Definition of Narrative Writing
Narrative Text is a text which contain about story (fiction/non
fiction/tales/folktales/fables/myths/epic) and its plot consitsof climax of the story
(complication) then followed by the resolution. A narrative text is a text
amuse, entertain and deal with actual or vicarious experience in different
ways.
A.
Generic Structure of Narrative
1.
Orientation : Describing the participants and
informing the time and the place. It also introduce some characters involved in
this genre.
2.
Complication : Describing the rising crises
which the participants have to do with or among participants relationship in a
proscess of social interaction.
3.
Resolution : Showing the way of participant to
solve the cries,better,or worse.
4.
Coda with summarizes the point of the story and
moral message we may get.
B.
Language Form of Narrative
1.
Using process verbs : tell, says, narrates.
2.
Using temporal Conjuction : Chronological
Order.
3.
Using Simple Past Tense : Present Tense,
and Future Tense, Present Perfect,
Present Continuous and Past Continuous.
B.
Different gendre of Narrative and the other writing
Purpose : To amuse, entertain, and to deal with
actual or vicarious experience in different ways. Narrative deal wwith
problematic events which lead to a crisis or lurning point of some kind, which
in turn finds a resolution.
Type of Narrative : Adventure, mystery, science fiction,fantasy, historical fiction,
contemporary fiction, dilemma, stories, dialogue, myths, legends, fairy tales,
fables.
Generic Structure :

Orientation : Sets the scene and introduces the
participant
b.
Evaluation : A stepping back to evaluate the
plight.
c.
Complication : A crisis arises.
d.
Resolution : The crisis is resolved, for better
or for wore.
e.
Re-orientation : Optional.
Significant exicogrammatical features :

Focus and spesific and usually individualized
participant.
b.
Use of material processes (and in this
text,behavioual and verbal processes)
c.
Use of relational processes and mental
processes.
d.
Use of temporal conjuctions and temporal
circumstances
e.
Use of past tense.
C.
How to writing narrative and steps?
A good
narration tell a story in an interesting way by adding elements of suspense so
that the readers will want to know how the story will turn out. The word
narrative means a story, so narrative is where you tell a story, meaning a
fiction piece of work a short story.

2. The second step : we must to write sentences and develop
it with the perfect development to be known trouble spots in the
narrative writing and we must pay attention to the steps that we are doing
every step of the.

: Once
upon time when I
school in vocational
hight school I have many friends and I so enjoyed play together with my
friends. But I

remember one my best
friend when I in SMK she is Eka. She is my best friend I when I

her always entertained I, always give me spirit when I down. But now I can’t together with her because from I past in SMK I think
I must to
continuing education in next level but I know if my
friend same with me want to continue education.my best friend Eka did not continue his education as he
instead chose my life to get married I feel I sad because I can’t
together again when I play, happy or sad. And then my friend already choose new
live with her husbands.
3. We must to determine the beginning of the story to the climax of
the story
Example : First I try to registered in IAIN Raden Intan Bandar Lampung I actually do not wish to enroll in the campus in Bandar Lampung because I not interested at all for college in bandar lampung but my father
always told me to
go to college. After that from the beginning I just wanted to go to in
UM.after announcement that I did not pass on
me in order
IAIN Darmajaya list
but since I was
not interested in his lecture there late
so I did not
enroll there.When I enroll in Muhammadiyah University of
Metro I not I do not talk that I would enroll in UM.At the time when my friend
stay in metro get information if my name is on the list of the names of students who graduated in English
education I verry happy when I see yes right my name in sequence number 27.
After I past in here I already give information to my parents First
my father was very surprised to hear the information
but in the end
I allowed her
to go to college in the metro. But if I told to my father he is certainly will not give permission to me. I feel
guilty to my parents, especially my father because I did not ask for
permission to enrolled here. But now I must prove to my father if I can be sucsess and
I am sorry dad if I not listen to your speak but this is my decision this is my
choose to continue college in Metro city. From I live in metro city until now
my parent have never come to my boarding house. I ever shy when I in class but my speak not good like a my friends but
I must to try and study hard again. So my great experience is a I can choose
where I must continue my college. Now I feel proud to be a student in Muhammadiyah

problem in the story.
Resolution is showing
the way of participant
to solve the
crises, better or
worse. The end
can be open or
closed ended. and
also need to know where his conclusions.
Example : I must to fighting alone must denied the words of the my parents. And then I must
to study hard to proud of my parents and my family who have been given and
defended me
5. We must to Establish coda or which
summarizes the point of the story and moral massage we may get

my mother who always prayed for me and always advised me to be patient and strong
in life. and while studying here I get the teachings and religious norms are many
and need to be increased again in order to instill good learning
Last step is you have to make sure the content of your posts is to entertain, sad or facts must be determined and also the end of the story.

My great Experience

I always remember one my best friend when I in SMK she is Eka. She is my best

must to continuing education in next level but I know if my friend same with me
